Distance Education

Welcome to SIPI!
The Summer 2014 DE student orientation will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Only students residing in New Mexico can take online courses.
SIPI does not charge lab fees for online/distance education courses

SIPI delivers a growing number of distance education courses in the following formats:

  • Online (via Blackboard CE 6.0, formerly WebCT)
Online students should have daily access to a computer and the Internet (from home, work, or a community site). Students should plan to spend three to five hours each week online, and an hour a day (or more) studying for each online course.
  • Two-way videoconferencing (ITV)
Students in ITV courses must have regular access to a videoconferencing site in their home community, at work, or, in some cases, in a nearby community, during the days and times the class meets. Students should plan to attend each class session and spend several hours each week studying for each class.
