Academic Support Counselors
Academic Support Counselors provide confidential, one-on-one sessions exploring how to best manage school, work, and your personal life; helping you stay on track academically or get back on track academically. Research data shows that students who meet with an Academic Support Counselors regularly, achieve higher academic success. It is recommended you connect with us early in the semester and come often to get the most out of the services we provide.
When should you meet with us? Anytime, especially if you are not doing well academically, feel academic pressure, considering dropping a class, not able to get a hold of your instructor, or simply when you need to feel supported.
Academic Support Counselors are located in the Student Success Center, Building 101, Rooms #150 & #151. They offer a supportive and a friendly environment to assist you with the following services:
- Orientation
- Accuplacer Testing
- Focus 2
- Career Exploration
- Early Support
- Job and Internship Search
- Transfer to 4-year college assistance
- Resource Fair
- Transition Fair
- Computer Lab access

The Accuplacer is utilized at SIPI to help assess college readiness in areas of Math, English and Writing. The Accuplacer helps Advisors place students in courses that match their skills.
