Grant Initiatives

Diabetes Based Science Education in Tribal Schools (DETS)

Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health and National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases; Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and Indian Health Service (HIS) cooperative agreement to develop a K-12 science-based diabetes curriculum for tribal and other schools serving American Indian and Alaskan Native students.

Honoring Our Health: Tribal Colleges and Communities Working Together to Prevent Diabetes

American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC), National Diabetes Prevention Center, National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in the amount of $60,000 funds to build capacity and develop an infrastructure at SIPI to address disparities in health, with an emphasis on prevention of Type 2 Diabetes.
