Welcome to your Student Government Association!
SIPI STUDENT SENATE:  505-346-2337

Do you love making a positive difference?  Do you see yourself as a leader?  If so, Student Senate is the place to be.

Student Senate is one of the most prominent and active organizations on campus. The Student Senate ensures all clubs and organizations at SIPI are in good standing. The best way students get involved in Student Senate is by running for office during Fall Trimester elections each year. In these elections, the students vote for their preferred Student Government Officers for the next academic year. To learn more, see a Student Senate Officer or Student Senate Advisor.

Ways to get involved:

  1. Run for Office – Become one of the student leaders on campus.
  2. Become a Committee Member – Committees are formed based on the needs of students each Trimester/Year.
  3. Attend Meetings – Student Senate Meetings are every Tuesday’s at 12:00 PM in the Academic Support Center. Meetings are only held every other week.
  4. Attend Social Events – Event Dates are posted in the Student Senate Board in the Academic Support Center.

The Student Senate, Advised by the Student Rights and Activity Specialist, is the student government body of the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute. It is composed of (4) four Student Senate Executive Officers, and numerous senators representing their organizations and committee chairs.

The aspiration, goals, and educational outcome of the Student Senate is to help stimulate an activate student government, build prominent relationships between students, faculty and administration, to help provide many avenues for students, and provide wholesome entertainment for students.
